Supporters of Public Transit are invited to join Bicycle and Pedestrian advocates at a drop in meeting to review the town’s draft Bike and Pedestrian Master plan on Wednesday, December 5th. from 5:30 to 7 pm, at Mount Pleasant Town Hall, 100 Ann Edwards Lane. Since most transit riders walk to their bus stop and many riders take the bikes along using the front mounted bicycle racks, functional pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure is necessary for transit to work East of the Cooper.
Hungryneck Straphangers is encouraging transit riders to attend and plans to hand up copies of some of it’s recent reports to the town for review. Those wanting more information can review the Draft Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan online or contact Kevin Mitchell, (843) 884-1229.
Mount Pleasant Town Hall is served by both the #40 Trans Mount Pleasant and #401 East Cooper Connector CARTA Bus lines and the timing of this meeting should allow everyone to be able to take the bus to and from this meeting should they wish to do so. Trips on the CARTA system can now be planned using Google Transit on your desktop computer via the www.ridecarta.com website, your Android smart phone using the standard mapping app and other internet connected devices.
